Rules and Conditions

  • No entry fee
  • Only one entry per student. If repeated entry is found, the student will immediately be disqualified.
  • Contestants must submit true and accurate information, and join the Competition with his/her true identity. If a contestant has submitted inaccurate information or is found to be ineligible, the contestant will be disqualified.
  • All short listed secondary school and tertiary student teams for the Challenge must attend a free-of-charge workshop and related activities organized for this Competition.
  • If contestants withdraw from the Competition for any reason, or fail to comply with the rules and regulations of the Competition, they will be deemed to have waived his/her eligibility to join the Competition.
  • The organizers have the sole discretion to cancel, modify or suspend the Competition. Contestants are not entitled to any compensation claim based on the cancellation, modification or suspension of the Competition.
  • The decision of the organizers is final for all competition-related matters and all stakeholders shall not raise any objection on the decision.
  • Children of the staff of the organizers are not allowed to join the Competition, for impartiality.
  • If Storm Signal No. 8 or above, or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is still in force at 7:00 A.M. on the day of the Challenge, the Challenge on that day will be cancelled. Under such circumstances, the rescheduled date for the Challenge will be publicized on this website afterwards.
  • The judging panel for the Challenge is formed by professionals in the Hong Kong Police Force, University of Hong Kong, Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (HKCERT) and Microsoft.
  • All the photos and videos relating to the Competition may be published in the publications or the website of the organizers, sponsors and supporting organizations for publicity purpose.
